Information for Parents
Agriculture has one of the highest fatal accident rates of any industry in Northern Ireland and is also the only high risk industry that has to deal with the constant presence of children.
As a parent there are a number of things you can do to help prevent your child having an accident such as:
- Provide a securely fenced play area with enough toys to keep children busy - A SAFE PLAY AREA.
- Keep children out of the farmyard and fields unless they are constantly under the close and direct supervision of a responsible adult.
- If children are old enough, tell them about the dangers they should look out for and where they are not allowed to go.
The resources provided here will help inform you of the dangers you and your chiildren may face and what to do.
